ish Festival - Cincinnati's Jewish and Israeli Arts & Culture Festival
The ish Festival, Cincinnati's Jewish and Israeli arts and culture festival, is back for it's second biennial event! On Sunday, September 22nd from 10:30AM - 4PM Washington Park will be transformed into a bustling, vibrant arts marketplace that will transport you back to the streets of the Old City and your grandmother's kitchen. ish Festival will feature 30+ artist vendors with works for sale in a variety of media, including Judaica & Non-Judaica, traditional & non-traditional works, by diverse Cincinnati-based and regional guest artists. Music and dance performances by groups from across the region will entertain you from the central Gazebo stage as you nosh multicultural and ethnic food (VAAD Kosher, vegan and vegetarian options available).
What's more, the event is free to attend, open to the public, and new this year will feature hands-on interactive experiences designed to appeal to all ages. Highlights include live glassblowing, art-making, music and food workshops, and more. I am particularly excited to share that a new historic Jewish walking tour will launch as part of the Festival, designed in partnership with Cincinnati Skirball Museum and Cincinnati artist, J. Miles Wolf, and builds upon the recent "Jewish Cincinnati: A Photographic History" show at the Skirball Museum. The complete "Jewish Cincinnati" exhibition will also be featured at the Festival in case you missed it last fall.
If you're looking to get more involved they have volunteer opportunities available, suitable for diverse ages and abilities. If volunteering isn't for you, I hope you will still join me at the Festival on Sunday, September 22nd. You won't be disappointed!
