Human Values Workshop sponsored by the NonViolence Alliance and conducted by the Institute of Sathya Sai Education
When: Friday, June 14: 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Saturday, June 15: 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Sunday, June 16: 8:00 am-3:00 pm (ending times subject to slightly change, depending on how quickly we move through the material) **Participation in the entire workshop is mandatory**
Where: Xavier University, Arrupe Overlook in the Gallagher Student Center, free parking will be provided
Why: Nonviolence plays a critical role working for justice regardless of the specific issue being focused on (poverty, education, racism, etc.) As a representative of an organization working for justice in some way, attending this workshop will reinforce the importance of the human values of truth, Right Action, Peace, Love, Non-violence, each of which informs your ability to carry out the good work you do. Not only will this training contribute to participants’ self-development, it will also provide them with the tools necessary to transform inward values into outward action required of justice and peace builders.
Other things to note: Refreshments and lunch will be provided each day. The event is free, but donations will be accepted throughout the weekend.
