After a successful 2017 series, our Stories of Survival Speaker Series has expanded in 2018 with five different events. Hear first-hand from speakers about their own stories of survival and journeys are refugees.
April 25th: Jewish refugees from Russia fled due to religious persecution in the 1990s. While many fled to Israel, roughly 700,000 came to the United States to exercise their right to religious practices and for economic opportunities. Reserve Tickets
May 23rd: Hundreds of thousands of families from the central African nation of Burundi are fleeing violence, extrajudicial killings, abduction, torture, and persecution. Many Burundi refugees are children who arrive at camps unaccompanied and separated from their families. Reserve Tickets
Jun 20th: Over 80,000 Bhutanese fled Bhutan after the North declared the South a threat to the political order. Southern Bhutanese fled to India and Nepal to avoid imprisonment and torture. Since 2010, 22,000 refugees have ended up in the United States. Reserve Tickets
