Great Faiths: Explored and Explained

Explore the diverse religions represented in Cincinnati, as well as the history of the peoples, cultures, and beliefs that make up the fabric of our city. Learn what values we share in common and what experiences make each community unique. This six-part series will include interactive discussions with adult learners and religious representatives to learn about their beliefs and cultures. Each gathering will include a selection of heavy appetizers and an opportunity to socialize with others. January 16, 6pm: Introduction to the program with the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and Ennis Tate, Community Activist and Pastor at the Church of the Living God

January 23, 6pm: Islam with Shabana Shakir-Ahmed of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati

January 30, 6pm: Orthodox Judaism with Rabbi Goldschmiedt and Mrs. Goldschmiedt of Congregation Sha’arei Torah

March 6, 6pm: Buddhism with University of Cincinnati professor Dr. Greg Hollan

March 20, 6pm: Catholicism with Dr. Nancy Linenkugel OSF, Xavier University Sister of St. Francis

March 27, 6pm: Field trip to Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s Klau Library and Rare Book Room.  Transportation will be provided.
