On July 16, 2017, the Jerusalem Post published an article by Dr. Bayme entitled,ISRAEL AND AMERICAN JEWRY: CAN THE RIFT BE HEALED?

AJC initiated the Jewish Religious Equality Coalition (J-REC) in 2014 to strengthen religious freedom and equality in Israel, allowing for full exercise of freedom of conscience in matters of personal status issues. By working towards creating a more pluralistic Judaism in Israel, J-REC enhances Israel’s international identity as a democratic Jewish state, and strengthens Israel’s ties to world Jewry.

Dr. Bayme will discuss  a multitude of pressing issues affecting American Jewish -Israeli relations and will discuss the work of the coalition including challenges faced, victories achieved, and opportunities that lie ahead.
