“The measure of our spirituality is our tenderness.” (Jean Vanier) But what does tenderness mean in a world of inequality, injustice, and violence? What can we learn about “acting justly, loving tenderly and walking humbly with our God” from key figures like Francis and Clare of Assisi? And how will we today live out a Christian commitment to compassion that requires communal accountability to human dignity?
