Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

It is a privilege to welcome you to the first annual University of Cincinnati Model United Nations conference! Our conference will be hosted on March 24th and 25th at University of Cincinnati’s Main (Uptown) Campus located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Our well-trained staff led by our passionate Secretariat is excited to lead the first conference hosted by our University. Our staff is made up of our competitive Model United Nations team which has a strong history of competing successfully at conferences at the national level. We hope to demonstrate to you why our conference is one of the best in the country.

CINCYMUN will offer two excellent committees. First, is a General Assembly Special Session on Drugs and Human Trafficking. The General Assembly is the main staple of debate in the United Nations. Delegates will be negotiating policies about a topic that is highly important in today’s international policy. Second, is a Crisis Committee in which the topic will be “Homegrown Terrorism’. This fast-paced committee will be sure to challenge delegates. Our staff is particularly excited about this committee and looking forward to the creative solutions to be brought forward by the delegates.

Apart from the committee debate that will occur, I believe that another important aspect of Model UN is the interaction with peers. I encourage all delegates to take time to work with and learn from their fellow delegates.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. Our staff and I look forward to seeing you this Spring!
