Who: Community development policy makers and practitioners (CDC, Community Councils, etc)
Panel Discussion: Connecting and scaling community wealth building policy and practice. Specifically, we will bring attention to PUSH Buffalo (eg. PUSH Green, PUSH Blue) and Cincinnati initiatives that can be nurtured, through more coordinated application and more favorable regional policies, to develop community wealth.
Community wealth building: If traditional economic development tends to be about attracting industry to a community, building wealth is instead about using under-utilized local assets to make a community more vibrant. It’s about developing assets in such a way that the wealth stays local. And the aim is helping families and communities control their own economic destiny. (source: Community-wealth.org)
